The Twisted Slabs are freestanding sculptures that can be cast in bronze, stainless steel, or cementitious material. There's a sense of momentum in the twisted slabs, and one of their most striking qualities is the way they capture light, shadow and movement. Even under basic warehouse lighting, the forms are beautiful

The Black Angel is constructed from more than 4,000 sticks. There are seven distinct stick designs, each with a custom angle and an assigned region. Read the story behind the work here.
I've been a practicing artist for 20+ years and I'm local to Georgetown, within the greater Austin Texas area. I build wall pieces and carve freestanding sculptures by hand, original forms that can be cast in bronze or stainless steel or carved in marble. Across both, I'm interested in what happens when something rigid impossibly twists or flows.
I grew up on the Atlantic Coast, living close to the water. In some ways, the ocean moves through everything I make. But my influences run wider than the coast. Physics, nature, science, travel, history, and gestalt all find their way into the work.
I trained early on as a designer/artist and spent my formative years in Los Angeles working alongside talented artists of every kind. From there I traveled across North America, Europe and Japan before landing in Austin, Texas, where I built a studio and spent several years incubating work full time. That period opened me to an inspired way of thinking about materials and processes and feel, and it gave me the space to develop a body of work.
My studio produces work at any scale, for private collections to a commercial or public space. If something here stops you, please say hello.
Commissions are a meaningful part of my studio practice, and I welcome new inquiries. If you have a project in mind, or are simply curious about how commissioned work comes together, I'd love to hear from you. Every message comes directly to me, and I respond to each one personally.
